Privacy Policy

Galactic Chain · Effective date: October 28, 2026

This policy explains what data the game Galactic Chain (the Android and iOS apps and the web version at galactic-chain.vercel.app) processes, and why. The game is published by Brainode sp. z o.o., a company registered in Poland ("we"), which is the data controller. Contact for all privacy matters: office@brainode.pl.

Summary

Data stored on your device

The game saves the following in the local storage of your device or browser: your best score and best wave, your sound setting, the last music track played, the last nickname you submitted, and nicknames you have hidden from the leaderboard. We use this storage only to provide functions you ask for – keeping your records and settings between sessions and pre-filling your nickname. It is not used for advertising, analytics or tracking, and it is not sent to us, except for the nickname when you submit a result. You can remove it at any time by clearing the app's data or your browser's site data, or by uninstalling the app.

Global leaderboard (optional)

After a run you may choose to submit your result to the global leaderboard. This is voluntary – the game works fully without it. If you submit, we store:

Data Purpose
Nickname (1–20 characters, chosen by you) Shown publicly next to your result
Score and wave reached Ranking of results
Game version and submission time Ordering equal results and maintaining the leaderboard

Leaderboard entries are public: every player can see the nickname, score and wave. The public ranking API also provides the entry ID and submission time. Please do not use your real name or any other personal information as a nickname. Entries are not linked to an account or to a device identifier.

Consent and moderation records

For new submissions we keep a private record of the consent notice version, confirmation that the player declared they are at least 16, and the time of submission. We do not collect a date of birth or identity document. These records are used to demonstrate consent and meet our GDPR obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). They are deleted with the leaderboard entry.

If you report an entry in the app, we store its ID, your selected reason and the report time. We do not ask for your name or email. Reports are private and reviewed by the game operator to prevent abuse (our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)). Reports are deleted when the entry is deleted; resolved reports are otherwise removed when the review and any related follow-up are complete.

Purposes and legal bases

Purpose Data Legal basis (GDPR)
Publishing your result on the leaderboard Nickname, score, wave, game version, submission time Your consent, given by confirming the publication notice before submitting the result – Article 6(1)(a). You can withdraw it at any time by asking us to remove the entry.
Delivering the game and the leaderboard over the internet and keeping them secure IP address and technical connection data, processed by our hosting providers Our legitimate interest in running the service securely and preventing abuse – Article 6(1)(f)
Answering your requests Your email address and the content of your message Our legitimate interest in handling requests, and our legal obligations under the GDPR – Article 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(c)

We do not make automated decisions about you and we do not carry out profiling.

Service providers and recipients

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone for advertising. Other players can see the leaderboard entries you submit.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Leaderboard entries are stored in the EU. Supabase, Vercel and Google are, however, based in the United States or belong to US groups, so technical data such as IP addresses may be processed there. These transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, and otherwise on the Commission's standard contractual clauses. You can ask us at office@brainode.pl for more information about these safeguards and for a copy of them.

How long we keep data

Deleting your data and your rights

To have a leaderboard entry removed or corrected, email office@brainode.pl with the nickname, the score and the approximate date of the entry. Leaderboard entries are not linked to an account, so we need these details to find yours.

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

Providing data is voluntary. If you do not submit a result, you simply do not appear on the leaderboard.

Children

The game is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at younger children. Publishing a result to the global leaderboard is restricted to players aged 16 and over. Before publication, the player must choose their age group and explicitly agree to publication and the leaderboard rules. Players under 16 can continue playing and keeping records locally without publishing. This is a self-declaration, not verified identity or parental consent. A parent or guardian can ask us to remove a child's entry at any time.

Leaderboard rules

Before publishing, players must accept these rules: no abusive, hateful, sexual, illegal or impersonating nicknames, personal information, spam or fake scores. We may remove entries that violate these rules. Use Report on an entry to send a private report to the moderator, or Hide nickname to hide all entries with that exact nickname on this device. You can restore hidden nicknames from the leaderboard. Because there are no accounts, hiding a nickname cannot prevent the same person from using a different nickname.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the game processes data, we will update this page and its effective date. The current version is always available at this address.
